7/3/2009 Simple Life in Toms RiverI think I'd better to write something down here sooner or later, just in case I might forget this short and special period of time in my life. OK, I am working at a Chinese Restaurant located in Toms River, NJ. I am going to stay here for a month and half in order to pay tuition for my LAST semester in ESU. I am working my ass off everyday, and I think I am not getting paid fairly enough but I know I am not a person who is complaining all the time. I am so proud of what I am doing right now because I have a goal in my mind, I am going to do whatever it takes to achieve my goal. Meanwhile, my wife is also working hard at a place not far away from me. I am so proud of her, too.
Getting out of bed, going to work, having three meals at work, going off work, going to bed. That is my routine for now, what is more simpler than that! 3/16/2009 The RingFinally we got the ring for the wedding. It wasn't the moment she put it in her finger until I realized what it means---the lifetime commitment of love. I can't wait to see her wearing it in our wedding. 11/21/2008 Getting Ready for Another TripIt's been a while since I made the last blog entry. It's just too much work from school and not being able to put anything in here. I think everybody is ready for the thanksgiving break and could really use the time to rest without having to worry about school. Speaking of school, there are certainly a few professors that I truely respect and feel the classes they offered pretty enjoyable, but there are certainly some professors that you pray for them to get cancer or retired next semester so that they can't upset students no more. Personally, I just don't think they deserve to stand up there in classroom and rob the money out of our pockets.
Anyway, I am ready for a real relaxing break. I am taking a trip with my friends to Grand Canyon over the thanksgiving break, I will then upload my picures here as always. The bad thing is that my almost all homies will be gone after this semester, it will certainly make you feel bad when you know something like this will going to happen. I will just have to enjoy the time we have left and be positive and make some new friends. They are on their way to pursue their own future and I think that's something that everybody gotta do in certain stage in one's life. I give them my best wishes, and hope I can still see them in the future. 9/4/2008 Labor Day Trip to ChicagoWe went on a road trip to Chicago on the labor weekend, it was a great experience for us. 6/1/2008 Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New YorkWe took a trip together to the east coast, it was awesome for the most of the time, except for the last stay at the hotel in Columbus, Ohio. It was a pleasant trip, I got the chance to see what big cities are like and let my parents get to see the other side of the earth. 12/12/2007 1st anniversaryI have been married for a whole year until today. It was an really amazing and unusual experience for me, because it was a significant milestone in my life. My wife and I have been through a lot in the 365 days, and we both grew up a little bit and understood each other more. We both took responsibilities and cared for each other.
To celebrate this special night, we went to Pizza Hut for dinner and had a great time there. The weather wasn't exactly nice and coperate enough, but we were in the mood to enjoy the moment.
8/25/2007 Too busy to stop and think.I am doing two jobs and four courses this smester. I get up 5:30 in the morning Monday through Friday, sometimes in daytime I just feel a little sleepy and worn out. I know what I am pursuing is good to myself, but I am also aware of the fact that I am losing contact with my friends. It's really kind of a hard situation for me, because those guys treat me like friends, and I am like disappeared from them. No hanging out, no time together, no talking any more. I just want to make the best use out of my time in the second smester, meanwhile I also really wish I could have a little more time to spend with my friends and people I am appreciative to. But this is life, you get something by giving up something, isn't it?
9/11 presentation is coming, go to work! 7/27/2007 GMAT CONQURED!!!I am done with the GMAT! I am done with it! It means I don't have to worry about it any more! Ahahahaha! 7/9/2007 Busy workingI have been busy working these days, I work so hard until my hands are too numb to move freely. But I know what I am doing, I know I am doing the right thing. So, no matter how miserable it would be physically, I am happy inside as long as I have faith. Life just began, a little sweating and pain is supposed to be part of it, just keep my head up and keep going. 6/7/2007 My sweetheart's got here. She's got here couple of days ago, although the trip was a little "bumpy", her arrival finally calmed everyone down. Since then, my life has changed. I am no longer on my own, instead, I have someone that I can share my feeling with, you know, having someone to talk to is the best way to let out your stress.
My life is so peace and quiet compared to before, and I do enjoy it. After all the hardships I have been through, I can finally have the life that I want, the one that is far away from those hustle and bustle.
Right now, I am so grateful for all the people that made this possible. Thanks for your help.
Let's just embrace life. 5/16/2007 Fed up with the fighting.Could you possibly cut me some slack and think about the words I told you? All I need is a little bit of peace and quiet, I am stuffed with enough pressure from life. Don't you give me any more shit like that, please. All I need is a little comfort, other than that, I don't need nothing.
Sorry if I was being strong worded, but that was truly how I felt at the moment. 5/9/2007 Done with first semester! Finally I have done with those final exams, it is time to some relax. 4/16/2007 She's got it!That is the best birthday present she can give me!
Big thanks to all the people who were working on it, you are the best!
3/26/2007 New Orleans Mission TripJust came back from a long trip. It was awesome!
A group of people went from Emporia(Kansas) all the way to New Orleans(Lousiana), helped rebuilding the houses damaged by hurricane Katrina. It was a fun trip, also a great oppurtunity to get to know each other a little more.
During the trip, we squeezed in the vans together, ate together, worked together, slept together. We did all the things together. We all felt like we are a solid, unbreakable and powerful team who is willing to give all we can to help those who suffered from the disaster.
I had a great time working together with Rudy, Ji Hoon, You Eun, Shim, Eun Ju, and Steven. I think we are the best team. Because everybody contributed with great dedication and energy, we really deserve every meal we got from church, haha.
You can tell from the home owner's face how appreciative he is for our help, he even brougt us lunch the other day. Which is the traditional food of his country, Honduras. It was so good!
During the way back, we paid a visit to the Korean Village in Dallas, Texas. I had some awesome spicy and sweet noodles with my Korean friends and Evan. I really wish to have the chance to eat it again.
I took tons of pictures, and I will load them all onto my space when I have time.
3/16/2007 RenewalRecently I heard a lot of complaints about my weird English, sorry my folks, I have to keep on doing this anyway.
I got some really good paragraph from a book, and I decided to quote it here:
"But the Baudelaires needed a moral compass, which is something inside a person, in the brain of perhaps in the heart that tells you the proper thing to do in a given situation...... someone believe that everyone is born with a moral compass already inside them, like an appendix, or a fear of worms. Others believe that a moral compass develops over time, as a person learns about the decisions of others by observing the world and reading books. In any case, a moral compass appears to be a delicate device, and as people grow older and venture out into the world, it often becomes more and more difficult to figure out which direction one's moral compass is pointing. So it is harder and harder to figure out the proper thing to do." 2/27/2007 Beer brings people closer?!I have long been challenging this idea, but recently I found out I was wrong. Beer is the catalyst to break the intangible walls between people. Sometimes, you will automatically become more friendly, more willing to talk to people when you have some alcohol. 2/19/2007 I had a real Spring FestivalThanks to the boss in China Buffet, I had a great time last night.
I got so drunk in there, and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera.
The wine isn't so strong the moment your drink it, but it comes later to your head. Anyway, alcohol is so important to Chinese people, it is the most effective way to get close to each other. And I guess it is also the case here in America. I knew a lot of people. About the dish, I wouldn't save my compliment for that. It was so scrumptious to me andI like it very much. Hey, don't worry if I managed to make my way back to dorm. I did it, on my own.
2/16/2007 Let's welcome the year of pig!The upcoming year is the year of pig, also my year. People say the ones who got their year coming is going to be lucky. They are certainly right, because I was very lucky in the year of 2006 and I have the feeling that I am going to be lucky in the year of 2007, too.
We are going to have a big party at the church, hope it will be fun.
2/10/2007 Dancing partyI didn't realize how bad my dancing was until tonight's party. I found out the simple fact---I am not a dancing guy. But the atmosphere was good, it's just I couldn't enjoy it completely. But I still managed to take some photos, although they are not as good as I thought. I need more practice on that. 2/8/2007 Equality AmericaI have always been thinking about writting something about America. And It think today I decided to roll up my sleeves and write down what America is really like. Em, maybe not America, but at least let me tell you what Emporia Kansas is like.
Equality is highly valued. Almost all the building entrences have two doors, one for the disables, the other for the rest. I even saw two washing tubs unevenly located in the library men's room. They are considering the need of handicaped. I like this kind of environment. From this tiny thing, I wrote the title equality America. But I think there is still something more for me to explore.
It's been a long time since I wrote in English, I hate to stare at the monitor for half an hour and squeeze out 5 rows of letters. I should write more often to stop my writting English from going rusted.
Streamline dairy update: Watched Super Bowl opening game and ate pizza the other night at Garen's friend's house. Screwed up the first accounting test(Sigh). I had a new roommate JiHoon moved in my dorm.
