    Busy working

I have been busy working these days, I work so hard until my hands are too numb to move freely. But I know what I am doing, I know I am doing the right thing. So, no matter how miserable it would be physically, I am happy inside as long as I have faith. Life just began, a little sweating and pain is supposed to be part of it, just keep my head up and keep going.

    My sweetheart's got here.

She's got here couple of days ago, although the trip was a little "bumpy", her arrival finally calmed everyone down. Since then, my life has changed. I am no longer on my own, instead, I have someone that I can share my feeling with, you know, having someone to talk to is the best way to let out your stress.
My life is so peace and quiet compared to before, and I do enjoy it. After all the hardships I have been through, I can finally have the life that I want, the one that is far away from those hustle and bustle.
Right now, I am so grateful for all the people that made this possible. Thanks for your help.
    Let's just embrace life.

    Fed up with the fighting.

Could you possibly cut me some slack and think about the words I told you? All I need is a little bit of peace and quiet, I am stuffed with enough pressure from life. Don't you give me any more shit like that, please. All I need is a little comfort, other than that, I don't need nothing.
Sorry if I was being strong worded, but that was truly how I felt at the moment.

That is the best birthday present she can give me!
Big thanks to all the people who were working on it, you are the best!

    New Orleans Mission Trip

Just came back from a long trip. It was awesome!
A group of people went from Emporia(Kansas) all the way to New Orleans(Lousiana), helped rebuilding the houses damaged by hurricane Katrina. It was a fun trip, also a great oppurtunity to get to know each other a little more.
During the trip, we squeezed in the vans together, ate together, worked together, slept together. We did all the things together. We all felt like we are a solid, unbreakable and powerful team who is willing to give all we can to help those who suffered from the disaster.
I had a great time working together with Rudy, Ji Hoon, You Eun, Shim, Eun Ju, and Steven. I think we are the best team. Because everybody contributed with great dedication and energy, we really deserve every meal we got from church, haha.
You can tell from the home owner's face how appreciative he is for our help, he even brougt us lunch the other day. Which is the traditional food of his country, Honduras. It was so good!
During the way back, we paid a visit to the Korean Village in Dallas, Texas. I had some awesome spicy and sweet noodles with my Korean friends and Evan. I really wish to have the chance to eat it again.
I took tons of pictures, and I will load them all onto my space when I have time.

    Renewal

Recently I heard a lot of complaints about my weird English, sorry my folks, I have to keep on doing this anyway.
I got some really good paragraph from a book, and I decided to quote it here:
"But the Baudelaires needed a moral compass, which is something inside a person, in the brain of perhaps in the heart that tells you the proper thing to do in a given situation...... someone believe that everyone is born with a moral compass already inside them, like an appendix, or a fear of worms. Others believe that a moral compass develops over time, as a person learns about the decisions of others by observing the world and reading books. In any case, a moral compass appears to be a delicate device, and as people grow older and venture out into the world, it often becomes more and more difficult to figure out which direction one's moral compass is pointing. So it is harder and harder to figure out the proper thing to do."

    Beer brings people closer?!

I have long been challenging this idea, but recently I found out I was wrong. Beer is the catalyst to break the intangible walls between people. Sometimes, you will automatically become more friendly, more willing to talk to people when you have some alcohol.

I had a real Spring Festival

Thanks to the boss in China Buffet, I had a great time last night.
I got so drunk in there, and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera.
The wine isn't so strong the moment your drink it, but it comes later to your head. Anyway, alcohol is so important to Chinese people, it is the most effective way to get close to each other. And I guess it is also the case here in America. I knew a lot of people. About the dish, I wouldn't save my compliment for that. It was so scrumptious to me andI like it very much. Hey, don't worry if I managed to make my way back to dorm. I did it, on my own.

Let's welcome the year of pig!

The upcoming year is the year of pig, also my year. People say the ones who got their year coming is going to be lucky. They are certainly right, because I was very lucky in the year of 2006 and I have the feeling that I am going to be lucky in the year of 2007, too.
We are going to have a big party at the church, hope it will be fun.

    Dancing party

I didn't realize how bad my dancing was until tonight's party. I found out the simple fact---I am not a dancing guy. But the atmosphere was good, it's just I couldn't enjoy it completely. But I still managed to take some photos, although they are not as good as I thought. I need more practice on that.

    Equality America

I have always been thinking about writting something about America. And It think today I decided to roll up my sleeves and write down what America is really like. Em, maybe not America, but at least let me tell you what Emporia Kansas is like.
Equality is highly valued. Almost all the building entrences have two doors, one for the disables, the other for the rest. I even saw two washing tubs unevenly located in the library men's room. They are considering the need of handicaped. I like this kind of environment. From this tiny thing, I wrote the title equality America. But I think there is still something more for me to explore.
It's been a long time since I wrote in English, I hate to stare at the monitor for half an hour and squeeze out 5 rows of letters. I should write more often to stop my writting English from going rusted.
Streamline dairy update: Watched Super Bowl opening game and ate pizza the other night at Garen's friend's house. Screwed up the first accounting test(Sigh). I had a new roommate JiHoon moved in my dorm.

    I am making progress :)

I heard some compliment on my English today, I am so happy about it.
I am going to keep down the stretch, and work hard on it. No matter what is standing in my way, it is not going to make a difference. Work hard!

    Time goes fast

Sometimes you are simply not so "time-conscious", it happens especially when you are preoccupied with something you care about.

It’s been almost one month since I came to the US. I have to agree with one of my friend who once said: You will become another Lawrence when you come to the US. Indeed, I changed a lot, in a good way. I speak up to people more, I open myself more to the outer world, I say hello so frequently as to make it into a habit, and I even hold the door for someone else. I go to church regularly. I am off a good start, I enjoy my life now.

I feel so happy that I made a right decision to go abroad. Man, just imagine when you have kids sitting around you and ask you: hey, daddy, what was it like when you first came to the US? How did you feel about in a foreign country? I got a lot of stories to share with my kids. Isn’t it great?

Life is a big box of chocolate, you never know what you going to get.

When In Rome, Do Romans Do

    Some interesting happenings lately:
a: I found a huge cockroach in the men's room in the library. It's was at least 2.5 inches long, color brown, with shining solid wings in its back. It's definitely something you can't see in China.
b: The fire alarm rang loudly the other day in my dorm, I was a little panic and didn't know what is happening. And I ran out of the dorm with my roommate. It panned out just a normal drill that the school will carry out once every semester.
c: I locked the key in the dorm, for three times in the past a couple of days. I paid $1 for each time. Hope I don't have to spend money on that any more.

The past a few weeks was my most memorable time in my life, so many things I have been through. This experience is going to turn into a special wealth for me. Sometimes I do have doubts about my future, but I realized that I don't have too much time thinking about it. Instead, I have to look forward and focus on it. "When the only tool in your hand is a hammer, every problem begins to resemble a nail." Here I cite this sentenceee to encourage myself, enpowering myself to face any uncertainties and difficulties ahead of me.

    BE POSITIVE.

    First Week In The US

A week ago, I was like nothing but a boy who doesn't have to worry about everything, and now, it is like Mr. you-have-to-do-all-things-by-yourself. It felt a little hard for me, but I have to look forward and be optimistic about it. Just do whatever I need to do, because I have no time to stop and worry too much.

Everythings is so new and fresh, the blue sky above a bunch of low buildings, the squirrels running round the trees, the windy but friendly climate, the abandoned small town environment... It's so different from my hometown, and it's full of unexpected happenings around me. Let's say, "It's a roller-coaster of suprises!" as I quoted from my friend.

My first impression about American? Oh, man, I got a lot questions like this these days. With all due respect, more overweight people I would say. I mean, normally I wouldn't judge people this way, but as fat as that? How many years it takes to get fat like that? Hehe, they look so cool and cute to me, actually.

Also, everyone here is so kind, but I still nedd some time to overcome my nervousness to speak up to foreigners. But I will push myself so hard to get rid of it, just like I usually do.

Okay, here I am, in my school library, tough still struggling with me time difference, want to tell everybody that cares about me, I am really fine. In addition, I made some friends here, like Im Hwan, Adrew, Leo, Jone, Bairen.

Good Bye, my friends, my country and 2006!

My family, my friends, my country, BYE FOR NOW!
I am sure that I will get back as soon as I can.
